Wooden Boats of the Mountains: 5 PM Saturday, August 30
August 5, 2008
Montana Boatbuilders, Inc., designers of beautiful wooden boats, will once again host “Wooden Boats of the Mountains,” a show of Montana wooden boats of all kinds accompanied by a delicious BBQ and music. This year’s event is at the Yellowstone Valley Ranch at 3840 Highway 89 South in Paradise Valley. All types of boats are welcome and will be on display including traditional framed boats, kits, scratch built and custom wooden boats. (Ranch directions.)

Here are the event notes from Jason Cajune of Montana Boatbuilders:
The riverfront at Yellowstone Valley Ranch is very similar to Mallards Rest where we have had the show in previous years but a little more spacious and more importantly, we will have the benefits of one of the best chefs around. There will be a barbecue featuring the ranch’s chef Josh who does great mixed grill dinners and we just can’t pass up the opportunity to have a float in, drive in venue in the
middle of the valley with music.
The show will start at 5 PM Saturday, and for those wishing to float in the options for put ins are: Grey Owl or Emigrant upstream. Take out can be at the ranch or a short float down to either Loch Leven, or Mallards Rest.
Camping is available at either Loch Leven or Mallards rest. Shuttles will be available through local shuttle services.
With the upgrade in barbecue fare from our previous years of beans and dogs, dinner will be $15/plate and worth every cent+!
Bring your wooden driftboat, canoe, kayak, rowboat, tugboat, kit boat or homemade craft and see what’s going on!
